12,000 BTU Cooling Power
The Soleus Air is perfect for rooms up to 450 square feet in size, but you can also use it in rooms up to 550 square feet. The room will still cool quickly and efficiently.
This makes it a great choice for a wide range of rooms in your house including the living room, bedroom, garage, or nursery.
You control the temperature using the remote control or buttons on the control panel.
The remote control and control panel display the target temperature.
Multiple modes
You can choose from the following four modes using the Soleus Air’s remote control or by pressing the buttons on the unit.
Cool mode
This is the Soleus Air AC’s primary operating mode. It cools the room to the desired temperature and then maintains that temperature.
Dry mode
This mode removes excess moisture from indoor air. It can extract up to 106 pints of water per day.
Fan mode
This mode operates the fan. This mode is ideal for when the temperature is not too high, and you only want a gentle breeze. The fan cools the room without using too much energy, and the fan speed can easily be adjusted to make your room cooler.
There are four fan speed options: high, medium, low, and auto.
Auto mode
This is the default mode of the AC. The AC will choose the fan speed and mode that is most appropriate for the room temperature.
These modes are not the only ones available.
The sleep mode lowers fan speed to reduce noise and changes the temperature to create a comfortable sleeping environment.
12-Hour Timer
You can set the timer to auto-on/off between 30 seconds and 12 hours.
Self-Evaporative Feature
The dry mode removes excess moisture from your room’s aire and exhausts it outside.
This removes the need to drain the AC with a hose or pan – most of the time.
If humidity is very high, then this AC may not be able to exhaust all water outside, and this can cause water accumulation inside the AC. Place a pan underneath the drain plug, or connect a drain line.
Easy to Install and Operate
This unit is easy to install for most people.
The kit includes a vent hose, slider kit, and everything you need to vent it outdoors.
It can be attached securely to the window and can be adjusted to fit different window sizes.
The Soleus Air is also easy to operate. Both the remote control and control panel are well-designed and have display screens to indicate current settings.
You can move the AC from one room to another by simply wheeling it on the bottom four caster wheels.
To safely move the Soleus Air upstairs, you can use the convenient carry handle.
Limitations
The timer is the only real issue we have. The timer is only for 12 hours, while most ACs can run 24 hours.
However, I believe 12 hours is sufficient for most people’s scheduling requirements.
The Soleus Air’s fan is also a little louder than other portable air conditioners.
