Portable Air Conditioner

The Hisense CAP-10CR1SEJS portable AC has a 10,000 BTU power rating that is suitable for rooms up to 300 square feet.

Three Modes of Operation

You can choose between the following three modes of operation using the remote control or the control panel.

Cool

The Hisense portable AC cools but does not heat. The remote control or control panel will allow you to set the temperature.

Dehumidifier

The built-in dehumidifier removes excess moisture from the air. This stops indoor air from becoming hot and clammy. The unit can remove as much as 2.45 pints of water or approximately 1 liter of moisture per hour. The dehumidifying setting cools your room faster than the Cool setting. It is useful on hot days when you need quick cooling. The cool mode will maintain the temperature.

Fan-only mode

This is the best option for those who just require a slight cooling. To increase or decrease airflow, you can adjust the fan speed.

Smart Mode is another option. You don’t have to set anything in this mode. Instead, the sensor in the unit automatically selects the optimal temperature and humidity levels.

Smart Remote

A remote control is a feature that many portable AC units have. However, the remote control on the Hisense Portable AC unit is a bit more sophisticated. This unit has smart sensors inside instead of the typical plastic box with buttons.

Hisense calls it an IFEEL temperature sensing remote control.

It automatically adjusts the AC’s cooling speed based on the ambient temperature.

Easy Installation

This portable AC is effortless to install.

it comes with the unit, which you can use with windows 18 to 50 inches in width.

To prevent hot exhaust air from returning to the room, make sure that you vent it outside. You can vent it through a window or a sliding door. However, you will need to purchase your own sliding door kit.

Portable

This AC is moderately heavy at 59 pounds. It’s easy and quick to move it from one room to another on the four caster wheels. But transporting it upstairs may take 2 people.

This unit can be easily used in your home office during the day, moved to your living room at night, and then used to cool your bedroom.

Limitations

Draining waste water from the unit is the biggest problem many portable AC owners experience.

The unit does not have the facility to drain moisture collected inside. You will need to connect a drain pipe (not included) and direct it towards the nearest drain. Or manually drain the drip pan.

This involves lifting the whole unit over a bucket.

You will need to elevate the unit if you wish to drain the water with a hose since the plug is too low to drain on the ground directly.

Also, you can’t connect a hose to a unit that is directly on the ground. So your choice is made.

Summary

The Hisense portable AC is incredibly easy to use. So much so that you don’t even need to touch anything.

This is an excellent choice for people who live in dry, arid climates. But due to the limited drainage options, we can’t recommend it for humid climes.
