Honestly, the only problem we found is the same issue with all evaporative coolers:
Avoid High Humidity
This unit operates on the principle of evaporative technology and ends up naturally humidifying the room alongside cooling it.
This is great for dry environments, but the lack of a dehumidifying feature doesn’t make it the best option for a humid environment.
If the relative humidity of your room/home regularly exceeds 75%, then we recommend looking at other types of air conditioners.
Care and Maintenance
You don’t need to to much to maintain and care for your Delonghi cooler, but here are a few cleaning and maintenance tips to keep in mind when caring for your evaporative cooler:
- Always unplug the cooler before you start cleaning it
- Do not immerse the cooler in water or pour water over it
- Avoid benzine, alcoholic, and harsh solvents when cleaning
- Never use an abrasive brush or scourer to clean the cooler; instead, stick to a damp cloth
- Avoid spraying insecticide or other similar solutions on the cooler as they may deform the plastic
- Clean the filter regularly to avoid clogging it
- When cleaning the water tank, turn the unit off and let it sit a for about 2 minutes before emptying the water
